Author to Watch: Crystal Lacey Winslow

I have read four of her books, and each one is awesome. Crystal Lacey Winslow is an Urban Author, and if you like urban fiction, you must check her out:
Histress: Dr. Anthony Cross is the man in New York City. He is the premiere plastic surgeon and as such is used to women falling at his feet. He is thirty-three years old and has no questions at all about what he brings to the table. There is nothing he loves more than a bevy of beauties at his beck and call and he is often not nice about it. However, that does not stop the women from flocking to him. After all, he is tall, dark, handsome, rich and well-endowed. He may be about to meet his match though, finally.

Gracie Lane is about to enter her forties. She is a millionaire due to her late husband's death. She has been remarried for ten years and is seemingly happy. Gracie's past is filled with lies and secrets and she is always a heartbeat away from the truth spilling out. The one thing Gracie wants is to have a tummy tuck but though rich she will not purchase it for herself. She is pleased and surprised when her husband provides her the surgery as an anniversary present. Of course, the doctor is none other than the famous, Dr. Cross.

Upon meeting, Anthony and Gracie get off on the wrong foot. However, she decides to use him as her plastic surgeon. For some reason, Anthony is immediately smitten with Mrs. Lane and is unable to get her out of his mind. A chance encounter, after work hours, leads to a hot and heavy sexual relationship and from that point the games truly begin. It was fun reading about a man who is so full of himself getting played by a moody, married femme fatale. I recommend Histress to those who enjoy a fast-paced, sex-filled, sometimes comic novel.

The Criss Cross: This follow up to Life, Love & Loneliness titled appropriately The Crisscross has you perched on the edge trying to figure out who is going to cross who and how. Nikkisi Ling, Noki Ling, Kapri Henderson, and Ivanka Zamora all are entangled as each one deals with their pre-ordained fates.

Nikki Ling has been used by the best of them. As this half black and Japanese woman realizes that she deserves better she decides to make a drastic career change and become a wife to a wealthy South African diplomat. Nikki's independent and street-smart thanks to being proliferated from the streets and having to crawl long and hard before she could walk. Although Nikki expects money to be her savior she's lost the only love she knew, but was it ever love? Nik meets a mystifying stranger who approaches her with the opportunity to rid herself of her circumstance. Is this the chance Nik has been waiting for? Or will Nik be stuck with the ultimate double cross?

Noki Ling this brat is biracial, half black and Japanese the younger sister of Nikki. But PLEASE her haughty materialistic azz would never admit that she's "A SISTA" Noki resents Nikki, and regardless what Nikki does it will never matter cause she's never going to be able to get Noki to feel anything unless it's dollar and cents. It's all about the Benjamin's baby! Noki's greed has placed her and her sister in compromising situations. Will Noki's obsession for dollars outweigh Nikki?

Kapri Henderson love for Knowledge proved to be a foolish investment. 13 years Upstate and Kapri is back! She has her son, a place to lie and now it's time to pay the bills. Kapri immediate thirst rushes her back into the streets where she immediately picks up the pace. Her parenting skills are beyond questionable. Kapri finds Knowledge and is immediately thrilled with his outcome, but will she resist the lure of outdoing the next? Is Kapri headed for self destruction?

Ivanka Zamora an uncontrolled, rich white girl. Her fascinations lead to unanswered questions as she's decided that she's capable of pulling anything off. Ivanka devises a plan and slowly brings all of her pawns in, but will she be able to extract her attack before she's caught?

Just when you thought that you knew the players in Crisscross Joshua Tune, Lacey Devaney, Madison Michaels, Portia Jones and Estelle Cardinale join in as a supporting cast. Has the unfinished business been resolved?

The drama at times is way over the top, and it's also somewhat confusing. However it is an entertaining read anticipating that there is still yet to come!


Life, Love, and Loneliness: Crystal Lacy Winslow's Life, Love, & Loneliness is superb... a beautifully written and well thought out book. Her characters are addicting to the reader, one line and you will want to read more.
Lyric Devaney is a top notch diva, doing whatever is necessary to make it to the top of her game in the entertainment industry. Realizing, once she made it there that she stepped on the toes of those who really loved, care for and knew her best.

Joshua Tune, attorney at law, was very focused in his business life yet, very careless in his personal one until he lost the one person who loved him unconditionally. However, he would never be able to retrace his faults and move on. He finds himself so engrossed in capturing a murderer until he has lost all self respect and drugs took over.

Richard Cardenale, mayor of the City of New York plays his cards tight. In one sense, he is racist and very contradicting in the other. His appetite for black woman was so overwhelming until he jeopardized his career. Fortunately, for his wife and his connections he would maintain his status and go on to being Senator. With nothing standing in his way, he cannot wait to run for presidency.

Madison Michaels is a well-educated sistah that is on her way to becoming an attorney but gets side tracked by what she perceived as love. Love; a powerful emotion that would make this girl lose all sense of reality and life. She placed her friends, credit, and job on the line for a con artist that sensed her vulnerability and set out to use and kill her when there was no more using left. Fortunately, for her sake, she was just a victim of ignorance and he would lose his life before she could lose hers.

Sex, Sin, and Brooklyn Sex, Sin & Brooklyn (The second installment), unbolts sex, sin, secrets, lies, betrayal and love, but by what definition? Crystal Lacey Winslow is an all-star when it comes to generating a drama filled book that tosses readers over the limit. Travel through the streets of New York as we meet new cohorts and revisit with some of the old ones. Can you handle Melodrama? (Pun intended!)

It's not how you play the game, but who wins in the end. Growing up as an only child, Breezy has been privileged and venerated her entire life. Educated, fluent in five languages, yet, she's still a `round da way chick. Partying with her friends, Breezy comes into contact with one of New York's' most eligible bachelors. If she plays her pawn correctly, this could be a million dollar love affair. Is Breezy Manolo's soldierly enough to restore the dilapidated heart of her suitor?

At 30, Kesha is a wife, mother and detective. Working hard to protect and serve, Kesha and her husband Daniel have reversed the roles. She's the bread winner, while he's home providing nurture. While partying with her girls, Kesha finds herself enthralled with some of the bad boys in the streets, neglecting her motherly and wifely duties. While laying down the law, Kesha finds that obeying the law can be a double edge sword. Can she remember her oath, or will justifying things cloud her reasoning?

Jinx is really lucky having been the sole survivor of a plane crash. Unfortunately, that luck doesn't extend to her fragile and irreparable heart. It's been three long years since Jinx parted from her first love. After permitting so much pain, she was content with just working, saving, caring for Nana and killing time with her girls. While Jinx is not in the market for a relationship, she seems to immediately get swept away. The problem is Jinx knows that something is wrong, but before she can salvage her self respect, it's too late. Is there love waiting for Jinx, or is she slated for pain?

Nicoli Jones is back and although she's found religion, 90% of the old Nicoli has seeped in. In spite of this, Black King is trying hard to bury their history, but sometimes the chemistry is too strong. When being humble and pledging her love doesn't work, Nicoli goes after the math. Is it too late, or will an overconfident analysis right a wrong?

People remember, there is always hazard while wishing for someone else's hand. Learn to be happy with the life you're dealt. Envy, greed and desperation can lead to your demise.
