I've finally started another Etsy store to sell jewelry that is ALL less than $20! Yeah! Fun earrings for $5.00 and even some cute necklaces! A great place to load up on fun and inexpensive handmade jewelry!
I'm changing things around!
I've created a new blog at Blogger called, "Musings of a Domestic Gourdess".

It’s easy to get caught up in the daily routine of life. I’ve certainly been guilty of it. I didn’t realize how much time I was spending in my own head. It’s easy to do when it’s just the dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, gourds and you for most of the day. Thoughts would run and skip about. Some I’d catch and hold onto while others I’d let float away.
I decided to step away from those thoughts. Instead, I focus on what I’m doing and how I’m doing it. That includes moments of not-doing. Anything tha… Continue

There was a time when a Tiffany Celebration ring would have been more than enough.
Nestled in an eggshell-blue box tied up with a white bow, a platinum band sprinkled with diamonds was the once-in-a lifetime gift to celebrate a most important moment.
And then Tiffany came along and told us we had got it all wrong.
We weren’t celebrating enough.
There are lots of times to celebrate; they said “Maybe there's a baby. Maybe it's your anniversary. Maybe just because. Capture your life's important… Continue

I picked them up Wednesday afternoon and are they ever soooo frickin' cute!!
They made quite a racket as they slipped and slid on the bottom of the cardboard box.
I laid bedding inside the brooder, filled the feeder trough and the waterers. Each duck was carefully taken from the box and it's bill placed into the water. This is so they know where to find it. It is a true fact, ducks like their water! Th… Continue
I've got a space on the Storque Main Showcase today. I'm hoping it leads to a few sales or love adds. The last time I did a showcase I got about fifteen adds as favorite seller and a few items favorited, but no sales on that day. A week later I had about two, but none of them were from the adds. If only other Etsy sellers have any advice or comments on buying showcase spots, whether they think it's done them good or been a waste of money, I'd love to hear them. Continue

The Chanel label is nearly 100 years old. The man at the helm is the 70 –something Karl Lagerfeld and he has been there for some 25 years. Put like that it’s hard to imagine cashed-up gen-Y-ers loving the label. Yet they do. Passionately.
The reason that he can design stuff so appealing to his young worshippers is in his choice of muses - Lindsay Lohan, Amy Winehouse ,Irina Lazareanu, Cat Power and muse-to-be Frances Bean.
His muses are cashed-up fashion-leading gen-Y-ers, and his market is ca… Continue
Threadless.com will sell over 1 million must-have too-cool t-shirts this year earning them something in the order of US$20 million in revenue.
Guess how many staff they have?
35
Yep, that’s right. Just 35.
As a very rough rule of thumb a business is doing pretty well if it employs just 5 people for every US$1million in revenue earned. Or, put another way, it’s a good business if every employee adds US$200,000 to the top line.
Threadless.com employs just 1.75 people for every US$1million in… Continue

The little ducklings were backordered. T. Bear was so disappointed! Lucky Farmers is going to contact the hatchery and let us know when to expect them. Perhaps they didn't hatch in time for the shipment. Maybe they made a mad-dash for freedom and are hiding with the duck underground. I haven't told the chickens they are getting new yard mates yet. I like the element of surprise. Besides that, it's fun to keep those persnickety chickens on their toes. That is a site to behold!

I want to give you the heads up. Tell all your friends!
MOTHER'S DAY SALE: All heart lockets are NOW 15% off until May 11th!
Mother's Day is just around the corner. A locket is not merely a piece of jewelry, but an heirloom, a keepsake, and a constant reminder of your loved ones. Last year, my siblings and I gave my mom a locket necklace and put photos of us inside. It is very sentimental to her and will likely be pa… Continue

What’s the first thing that you are too busy to do? For me it’s exercise. Or should I say for me it was exercise.
After discovering “Brain Rules:12 principles for surviving and thriving at work, home and school” by John Medina (www.brainrules.net) I am now going to have to find something else to be too busy to do.
Why?
Because according to John exercise is the closest thing we have to a magic bullet for our brains and:
• we learn 20% faster immediately after exercise
• exercise improves our… Continue

I've been talking about making these like F-O-R-E-V-E-R! Well, I finally did it. It seems each year I get the urge to make these cuties with a new twist.
How could I NOT make them? They crack me up! I laugh when I see them sitting in row, bald headed and waiting for their hairdo. And I can't for the life of me replicate a hairdo exactly. Each faerie seems to dictate her unique "do". Then of course it's great fun when someone calls on the phone.
"Whatchya doin'?" they'll ask.
"Oh, just baking… Continue

I finally got the nerve to send out my blog journal that I have started. Now everyone is going to know about me. I hope they don't think bad of me, but I need to do this for my sake and anyone else who has struggled throughout life. I have been to a therapist, and other docs who tell me all kinds of things that I don't like or do they even help. They've given me every kind of drug for my bipolar, but nothing helps so now writing this blog I feel will be my therapy and to truly hear some stories… Continue

The signs of it are popping up everywhere! The weather has warmed up enough that I can let the fire in the furnace go out during the day. When I hung clothes out on the line, I noticed there is new green growth hither thither among the grass. The tiger lilies have pushed through the ground, and I swear the leaf buds on the trees look plump. The robins and turkey vultures have returned. I love watching the fluid glide of vultures. I love watching the vultures glide along the air currents so effor… Continue

With spring finally upon us, it is time to blow off the protective blankets of winter and get outside for a new fresh perspective. For most everyone, spring has a familiar fresh smell of cut grass and colorful flowers blooming. At this time of year I am trained to think in shades of pastel, which evokes fun childhood memories of Easter egg hunting. Now I see my daughter’s face as she enjoys running around in the warm sun in our backyard and watch her soak up the imagination that this new beginni… Continue

I am writing a book. Well I’m editing it actually because it’s all written - I am just going through the making-it-better bit.
The book is called The Art of Baking a Business: Recipes for the Kitchen Table Tycoon - and that’s exactly what it is - a collection of recipes and fun stuff for baking a business.
As well as the "how to" recipes the book has lots of tasty tales - stories about successful former Kitchen Table Tycoons.
I am also profiling a selection of Kitchen Table Tycoons who right… Continue
