What is success? Yup, I'm on my soap box!

Success: 1 obsolete: outcome, result. 2 a: degree or measure of succeeding. 2b: favorable or desired outcome; also: the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence. 3: one that succeeds.
I’m sure you are all wondering why I am blogging about a word in the Webster dictionary; it is because I wanted to share my thoughts of what I believe success is: “To live we must succeed but to succeed we must live!” Many people lose sight of living and take every day occurrences for granted. I believe those who succeed in life are not the filthy rich rolling around in their money, yet they the people rich with love from family and friends. They open their door and notice the blue sky or hear the birds chirping; THIS is what I call success.

Success is also being a great wife and mother, honoring your family, and running a great business. I know some very successful people in my life, for instance, my sister. Rocki is the owner of two shops on Etsy, Rocki’s Rock ‘n Beads and Rocki’s Supplies. She is loved by her customers and fellow Etsians and finds friends everywhere she goes! She’ll even talk to a stranger in a grocery store line…and that stranger will always respond with a smile and a warm farewell. If you do not know her, go check out her shops and reply to her blogs….you will have a friend for life!

I am proud to say I am much like my sister, yet I envy her. She is beautiful, talented, smart, FUNNY and has a spirit that the devil will never be able to catch because she has wings the size of Texas! I’m just not sure where she tucks those beauties!

I’ll step down of my soap box now but I will leave you with this…if you feel you are still trying to meet your success then look no further than the mirror…

Oh Laura... you brought tears to my eyes and now it's hard to see to type! Even though you are my only sister, you are the BEST sister anyone could ever hope for. I'm rather speechless, so I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Laura, what a great blog! You sister sounds like a genuine, caring person. Just the kind of person I like to meet and talk to. You sound a lot like your sister to me.

I live in the country and I feel richly blessed by the beauty around me. I, too, don't measure success in $$'s. You can have all the money in the world and not be rich, if you are poor in spirit, friends and can't see the world around you - only $ signs. Success comes to those who reach out.
