And Time Ticks By ...

It’s been far too long!!!!

Life’s been far too busy and as a result, many things have been left to gather dust and not just my house!! I’ve decided to give my blog a bit of a scrub up. No doubt I’ll fall behind with it all sooner or later, but I’ll just pick myself up by the laces and try again.

Where have the summer hols gone? I feel as though my children have only just begun their holidays but here I am, the mad woman rushing about trying to buy new shoes, blazers, trousers, bags, pens etc and actually wishing that they had more time off. Yep, that’s right. I do wish they had more time off.

It’s been a wonderful summer, mainly because we spent some of it in the South of France, Antibes to be precise. (Can you see me sunbathing on my yacht? Oh no, just my imagination!!) We had to endure wall to wall sunshine every single day. Such a drag!! :) All in all we drove 2,500 miles mainly due to the fact that we took a rather large detour to visit some of my family who live in the South West of France. The driving did become very tedious in the end but it was worth it just for the sun drenched beaches, outstanding scenery and scrumptious French cuisine. The only downside was the atrocious driving. Such impatient, aggressive drivers and that’s just those who get about on mopeds! In fact a couple of silly moped users ended up underneath the back of our car!! A bus had decided to simply pull out in front of us without so much as a glance to see if the way was clear. My husband had fortunately anticipated that this might happen so came to a halt. About 3 seconds later, we heard this awful crunch from behind us and to my husband’s horror, he saw in the rear view mirror two people go under the car!! Nobody stopped to see if everything was okay!! It was as single lane road and all the traffic simply drove around us. We had to force our way over to the side!! Not very British. The entire road would have been closed for at least 4 hours whilst statements were made, measurements taken, heads scratched, etc, etc. Hmmm, I think I prefer the French way. Anyway, there was a lot of “meard” this and “meard” that from the lady who was driving the scooter. She and her companion had a few minor cuts and bruises and the scooter was a bit mangled, but still worked. Finally she had a ciggy and calmed down. What can I say except they’re utterly nutterly on the roads and you definitely need your wits about you. However, I want to go back, but minus the car!! I won't bore you with heaps of holiday photos, but hope you like these two of Antibes old town and the one of my yacht ;) I can dream can't I!?!

Another Award!!

Wow! I've been given another award over the weekend from the lovely Mandie. Mandie makes the most gorgeous jewellery. You can see some of her jewellery here and you can visit her lovely blog here. Thank you Mandie - you're way to kind!!
So, I now have the pleasure of passing on the award to the following lovely people:
First of all to Bettyjo because I love her blog! She's so pithy and her sense of humour is spot on!!
Please take a look here.
Next is the extremely talented lady behind watercolours works. Her paintings are beautiful so please head over here.
Izzy is an extremely talented lampwork artist. Her beads are so delicate and feminine. Please take a look at her blog here.
Okay, next is Laura - another wonderful lampwork artist. I love her blog as she's always got something interesting to say! Please look here.
Last, but not at all least is Maddy! She has a very special take on life and I love all her wonderful stories. She's an exceptional lady!! Please look over here. She actually runs two blogs, the second of which is here.
Okay, that's it!
Actually, not quite, I would of course have given this award to my best mate Sharon, particularly as it's a sweet home blogger award, but it's already been bestowed upon her, which doesn't surprise me in the least!!
Oh, one more thing, sorry there are no paragraph breaks but my blog must be feeling a bit sick!
xx

Award

I've just had the honour of being awarded this lovely award from my amazing friend Sharon from Mana Moon Studios http://manamoon-studios.blogspot.com/. It's the "Arte Y Pico" Award which is The Creativity and Art Award. I really don't deserve such a lovely surprise, but it really has made my day!! Thank you so much Sharon for thinking of me!

I now have the honour of passing it on to 5 other people whose work I greatly admire. Please do take a moment to visit their blogs and be prepared to drool over their wonderful creativity. Here they are:

http://beadybugs.blogspot.com/ Helen makes the most amazing, perfect glass beads. She just doesn't make enough!

http://jewellerycraft.blogspot.com/ Mandie is so talented and her jewellery just gets better and better, if that's at all possible!

http://craftedgems.blogspot.com/ Caroline makes beautiful glass beads and is now creating gorgeous boro beads! Yum!

http://beadsbyclarescott.blogspot.com/ Clare makes really stunning beads and jewellery and always makes me laugh with her silly comments!!

http://heavenlyjewellery.blogspot.com/ Last, but not least, the very talented jewellery designer, Jo!!

Please pass on this award to 5 other talented artists that you admire and please mention where the award came from. Thanks everyone!!

Have a great weekend!! xx

Awareness/Advertising

I find it so difficult to find places and ways of advertising my work. Quality craft fairs charge a fortune for a table and school fairs - well, most of us are only there because our children have dragged us along! So, when a friend of mine asked if I'd like to display some of my jewel… Continue
