I've been sewing most of my life. My Grandmother owned a custom sewing shop in Canada when I was young, and she taught me how to sew on one of her many sewing machines.
My love of cork statred a few years ago. There is a store called The Cork House near my family in Canada, and they sell furniture, floors, wallets, shoes, lamps etc out of cork. It is a renewable resource, the bark grows back so the tree can be harvested again in 10 years.
The cork fabric I use looks and feels like leather. It's lightweight, durable, waterproof, and can actually be put in the washing machine up to 90 degrees F!
I'm also an Amy Butler fan. I love her fabrics!
